Flux is an identity for a fictional gallery for the Glasgow School of Art's MFA program. After speaking to several MFA students I decided that the physical space of the gallery mattered almost as much as the artists' work itself. I designed the typeface for the identity with an architectural and moveable sense. I carried the shapes of the letter forms throughout the identity so that the physicality of the letters could be felt strongly throughout the project. I chose the name Flux because the MFA represents a group of students who are always changing and developing and are at a crucial point in their careers. The gallery itself will always be in flux because the work inside and the artists who create it are constantly changing.
